Hi there, I am trying out Consulo again and I have a few questions that I’m confused about or are at least not initially clear to me. I didn’t want to post any issues because they vary quite much. If you would like me to make issues for these I will do so. I actually like Consulo so I really want to solve the issues I’m having so I can use Consulo as my main IDE because I love FOSS.
Currently I am using:
OS: Linux (Pop!_OS 18.10) 64bit
Consulo: 2.0 build #2186
My issues are as follows:
I found the formatting options to be quite intuitive and is overall very good. But I am wondering how I can customise formatting for attributes in properties (actually to just ignore them). They default to “force to next line” by the looks of it but I actually don’t always want this and I couldn’t find the option for this in the settings.
A “Format file on save” option? I tried searching for it but couldn’t find anything.
ctrl+scrollwheel to change font? Or just ability to change font in general. I found I could change font size searching for “Font size” in Help > Find Action but it would only change font size for the currently open file and not the others. And it would not size font size upon project reopening.
The font colouring is cool. But I noticed that enum colours will always stay the same as class colour. I was wondering how I can change that, I couldn’t find that in the settings either. Only for class colour. (not a big deal but im used to Visual Studio on that one)
I see a “Search with Google” which is cool but was wondering if its possible to change search engine e.g Duck Duck Go?
Also ability to search Unity API docs (short cut or right click). I remember mentioning this feature last to you. Not sure if you added it or not though sorry.
When I export my settings I can not find the file. I don’t think it actually saved. The path says
~/.consulo_settings/config/settings.jar but file is not there.
When double clicking on a script Consulo does show the right file, and correct line if double click on console log but Consulo is not coming into focus over top of Unity.
I really like what you have here though. This IDE has a lot of potential. I would love to help out as much as I can and where ever I can so please ask if you need anything from me, run tests etc. My Java knowledge is not as good as my C#/Unity knowledge though. I feel bad only pointing out problems when there is so much here that is done right. Also once these things are overcome I really feel this could be an IDE that can compete with the big guys
